Yoga
Yoga has become a daily activity for more than 20 million Americans. Yoga incorporates meditation, breathing exercises, self-reflection in conjunction with body alignment, and balance. Yoga is an excellent aid in developing physical, mental, and spiritual health. Yoga is now being used to relieve pain, strengthen the cardiovascular system, and manage depression and anxiety. Also, the weight-bearing exercises in yoga can address the problems of poor posture and a weakened spine. Yoga is an excellent way to:
- Promote good posture and coordination
- Improve muscle endurance
- Increase flexibility
- Improve balance
- Restore range of motion and function
- Increase blood flow to promote healing, decrease inflammation, and relieve pain
Judy Lovelady, RYT 500, M. Ed.
Judy Lovelady is a retired teacher of over 33 years. Since retirement, she has achieved her life-long goal to become a certified yoga instructor. She completed her training at the yoga school in Covington. Judy’s teaching skills include the ability to adapt and provide modifications based on individual abilities and needs. Yoga is available at our Ponchatoula location.
